So we are in the middle of complete renovation and the walls are all down on ground floor. We blocked up old front door to create more space in the kitchenso this needs to be relocted to either front of the house or side but we cant decide!!

If we have the cloakroom to the right of the house, it will be big enough to fit loads of hooks for all our coats/bags rather than have them in the hallway if the cloaktoom is at the front of the house.

The diagram makes it all look quite compact but we do actually have quite a large space.

What do you think?
Should the front door be at the front of the house?

Storage is paramount. If you have space for a large cupboard then go for that option.

right of the house, definitely

Front door to the front. The boxiness of the cloakroom interiors the flow otherwise

Interrupts the flow

Front door to the right.

Otherwise your cloakroom will just seem like an added box rather then a natural part of the design. Also stairs opposite front door flows nicely

I always prefer the front door to be at the front. However, in your case, the layout works much better having the front door to the side. You can also have a fitted cupboard between the front door and the cloakroom.

Thanks for the feedback. We decided to have it on the side and now the stud walls are up, we are so pleased we did!
