Slide and Swing doors on extension - any experiences with New Wave/Decenuninck/Panoramic?

On our extension, we are planning on having 3-4m of glazing on the south facing wall to overlook the garden. We have UPVC french doors on the same wall in the existing building and have a running battle to try to get them to close because the sun makes them warp.

We've looked at, and discounted bifold doors. However, we have come across the Magnaline product being used in Slide and Swing (or Slide and Stack) doors from New Wave Doors, Deceuninck, Panoramic doors, and other suppliers - although at this point, I'm not sure if it's the same product just licensed to different suppliers.

Does anybody have any experience of these Slide and Swing doors, and particularly on a south facing wall (did the UPVC ones warp)?

We have slide and pivot style, assume its the same kind of thing? 3m of Aluminium thin frames, south east facing, absolutely love the versatility of them. Think they were from sunseekers. Had them in 2 years now and no problems. Easily installed, great comms from company. We discounted bifolds because of the bulkiness when opened, didn't have enough room
Highly recommend that style of door

Thanks Sacbina - another supplier to add to the list! I've had a look at their website and it looks like they are the same kind of idea. Great to know you've had no problems.

WHAT A NIGHTMARE OF A COMPANY! We had our new wave doors installed after 3 months of delay to only get a faulty product that isn't even suitable for the English weather! The doors fell apart on the day of installation and we had to wait an extra 2 weeks for a replacement part then another frame fell apart and we had to wait an extra 2 weeks for the installation to be complete. When I say complete they didn't even seal the frame to the block work they just squired expanding foam into the sides and there was no trim to finish it off on the sides or the big gap at the top of the frame.

The customer service we received from new wave was appalling and the product is just as bad. They took all the money upfront no questions asked and when I spoke to the director Claire Warren she was not willing to help in the slightest and put the phone down on me on 2 separate occasions! My building inspector said we should have been advised to have trickle vents in the door, which they didn't tell us and that the frame is not thermally broken so it's not weather rated for the English weather. The frame is ice old to the touch on the INSIDE!!! The first cold morning we experienced condensation and we thought it could be damp from the newly laid concrete floor but 6 weeks later using a dehumidifier there is no change!

Sorry, I've only just seen your experience Jason. How awful for you. We decided against them in the end. I know we want to have trickle vents but thanks for the heads up about being thermally broken. Do you have any recourse?

Hi, interested in this thread. We're also thinking about sliding doors which you can fold back somehow - what did everyone do in the end?
Our space of 2100 is just too narrow for bifolds.

Do not touch New Wave aka Legacy windows with a ten foot bargepole! Their organisation is appalling and poor Megan in the office is completely unsupported by seniors, in her efforts to sort out the mess they leave you in.

Hello, does anyone have experience of Panoramic Doors? We have placed an order with them for Slide and Swing doors, but with the nightmare story Jason told about New Wave I'm wondering if we have done the right thing.

Avoid New Wave doors, I had a very bad experience after purchasing the doors from them last year and still lot of issues with the door. Their service is not even worth zero star, I'm considering going to court to get this rogue traders operating freely. They are exhibiting in Sandown park and I called the Exhibition main office and raised my concern regarding New wave door. Their contact is 01527834418, the only way is more and more people tell their concerns so that they are no more allowed in any exhibition.

Wish I'd seen this earlier. We too ordered from New Wave. It's been a nightmare. Frames arrived without the glass and the piece which goes across the top of the doors. My builders had to drive to Bristol to collect the glass as they wouldn't deliver until the top piece across the top was ready. We are still waiting for this piece. No customer service at all....no one picked up the phone to any of the departments. Have spoken to sales people to try and get this sorted as Claire in customer services just hangs up and lies. A month ago we were told the piece was being power coated and would be ready in a week. Now, today we've been told 14th September. Similar to experiences above they wanted payment up front! Don't even know if warranty is worth anything or whether to source the piece elsewhere to get the window finished. Rendering can't be completed until this piece has been fitted. Can anyone advise

Canonly add to whats already been sent. I have never dealt with such an imcompetent rude and couldn't care less company in my entire life. I refered in my earlier calls to the number of complaints and they said that we only see the bad ones. Well havent seen any good ones ! Their Customer service is a joke. We have been awaiting our products for over 3 months and I don't think they have even ordered it. On calling to complain Claire refers to how she is too professional to get into arguments or three way conversations and is now refusing to speak to me . If professionalism is defined as being rude giving inaccurate information not answering or returning any phone calls not responding to e-mails ever and not apologizing for the massive inconvenience this has caused than yes she is professional.Trading Standards contacted today as yet probably another false date is given. We can not speak to MD as does not take calls due to faith in management team. Maybe if its not too much trouble he/she should look at the internet and see what people really think about your customer service. AVOID this company or you will regret it

We are waiting on doors too, the glass was ordered from a different company as we wanted a dog door fitting in the glass which wasn't an option from New Wave, so now we have glass ready and waiting for doors to be fitted in to.
I was so impressed with the New Wave doors, we saw them in Manchester at a Homes Show and the guy was telling us how quickly they could get them installed, how easily they could fit a dog flap in (they'd not done it before but they definitely could and would take photos, if we allowed to show other customers!!) what a joke!!
We didn't order straight away, went and looked at all other options and decided they would be the best choice and our builder ordered on our behalf. He has rung them every day, getting false promises and delivery dates which come and go with no doors arriving. We've now been told next Friday but I am so disillusioned with them I would be very surprised if anything turned up.

Is there anyone out there who has had New Wave doors delivered and fitted with no problem? They're a brilliant alternative to bifolds but now I wish I'd never seen them.

Avoid new wave doors also known as legacy Windows, and fast frame Windows and conservatories. They are rogue traders, they take your money and then don't give you the product, the director details are certainly suss as the director is supposedly a Lorraine LIllion Morris , aged 77yrs old but then a bit more digging reveals she hold other directorships under the name Lillion Mary Morris also aged 77, I have past info onto the police and their fraud department is investigating, please avoid this company at all costs. Luckily we are covered under section 75 of the consumer credit act but others might not be so lucky.

Panoramic Doors (Sheffield) ... avoid at all costs! They fitted my doors in April 2017. I contacted them at the beginning of May regarding the door seals that kept falling out of the doors. They didn't send anyone out to look at them until August. At this meeting their representative agreed to replace all of the door seals and replace one of the doors. The guy was extremely critical of the sub-contractor who had fitted the doors and said that he would adjust all of the doors and fit the trickle vents when he came back within 3 weeks. 2 months later I'm still waiting to hear from them. I love the doors but Panoramic Doors' customer service is appalling.

We had panoramic doors fitted this week. Love the doors, but the overall dealings with the company less so.
I’ve found them very difficult to get hold of on the phone (queries, trying to pay invoice etc), and they chose to leave a number of mails unanswered.
Since the fitted the doors a couple of people have commented that the outside seal looks clumsy and spoils the appearance. And there’s an outside trim missing. Our fault apparently as we didn’t order it...but no one ever told us we’d need it!
So I plan to call and mail tomorrow to ask they come and redo the seal and fit a trim. Both as a complimentary service.

We’ll see if I get a response!

Update on panoramic doors. Customer service is very poor. So as above, they missed a trim and left a very poor finish on my doors. They don’t answer the phone, only emails. They’ve responded to say they will come out to look but won’t be until late Jan at the earliest. I won’t hold my breath.
Very pissed off after I’ve just given them £13k
