It's for a rental property. We need a bath, electric shower, shower screen, basin, toilet and very small sink as the toilet is separate. Also a towel rail. Thanks.

Plumber's merchant. If you are thinking you only need a sink in the separate loo, please rethink: there needs to be one in the bathroom.

If you are a member of the National Landlords Association (NLA) you will be able to get a discount at Trade Point and Selco builders merchants. Even with the discount, they may not be any cheaper, however it may be worth a look

Buy cheap sanitaryware if you want, but you must buy good-quality taps, shower, wastes, and WC cistern syphon and valve.

One plumber's visit to repair or replace junk will wipe out what you saved by penny-pinching on cheap tat.

Thanks wow, suffering and Piglet. It's a good point that cheaper things may work out more expensive in the long term. It's just a bit tricky - for a novice - to find stuff which is good quality and doesn't cost a fortune Confused.

buy Bristan taps

A surface mounted shower (not built into the wall) with chromed surface mounted pipes

A basic Aqualisa shower with a round knob

wastes with plugs, not pop-ups which will leak

Look at Plumbworld. If you put "clearance" into their Search field you will see today's bargains.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Just to let you know I went to our local plumbing supply shop. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The bathroom cost £800 - I was very pleased.
