Hi! We are planning a small side extension, we live in a Victorian house with an L shaped patio. If we go for this extension, can anyone one advise me, do we need to apply for planning permit or is it a permitted development? Any guidance is welcomed!

Yes you probably do need permission. And, locally, the council has been declining some side return applications. Speak to the planning department.
