Hello!
Anyone know how I can get something like this please?

I think this look would need to be achieved by cutting separate pieces for each stair. I can't imagine you could buy a single piece of carpet like this off the peg as stairs differ in their rise dimensions.

We have a less bright / more muted version and it indeed has different carpet on each step. I love it

That's lovely!

Ooh, pancakes, do you fancy showing us a photo please? I might be able to convince DH if it's a bit ore muted than the above. Though I want the above! Also, do you mind telling me how much it cost to buy/lay?
Isn't it, Molly!

There is a company which specialises in doing this- I'll try and dig out their name

Very cool, LP!

Thanks, Amelle, sadly we are nowhere near the M25.

Could you paint them?

We did start to paint them but the wood isn't good enough quality, plus I'm worried about slipping.

I have a suggestion, why not speak to your local carpet retailer, they must have many of those large 'sample' book-type things (usually on a stand) and ask if you can take one when the new one comes out (often annually) then you could take it apart and use the single squares to do each step. I bet you could get an old carpet book for peanuts. All the edges would already be stitched and you could nail it in postion like a runner down the centre of the stairs if it wasn't wide enough. Also because it was all from one book, they'd all have exactly the same texture. You could possibly get a really top quality carpet doing this.

Thanks, zeb, that's really smart thinking. I thought DH was open to the idea but he's saying he's not keen now.

never mind the dh I'm starting to like this idea more and more now. Your first tread could be navy and you could do all the shades to ice blue at the top! I have a set of stairs needs doing myself.....

You could always mosaic them......like these!

I know - LTB, right! :)

This isn't our forever home, I'm going to work on him again though!

LOVE the mosaic - but I have young barefoot kids, not sure it would be kind to their precious little feet.
