Funky log burners

Looking to replace ours, which is ancient, very plain, black, and wondering if there are any unusual or different brands to look at? Maybe in different colours? It has to have a rear vent, not top (which most of them seem to be). Any ideas? Budget flexible, not mega ££££ but not bargain basement either

To be honest, it'll be tricky to find something you love - as it wouldn't be a mainstream item for any manufacturer then it will be ££££. I'd go to a specialist retailer and brief them to see what they might find as they'll know where to look. My thoughts are that, if any country does this sort of thing, it'll be Italian....

Or, instead of trying to find a funky burner, maybe find a suitable contemporary one then 'funk' up how it sits in the room eg sit it in an alcove painted bright green/pink/yellow etc

Thanks - it's freestanding so no alcove - I saw some nice ones earlier but they were all top outlets

I'll check out the link thanks

We have a contura 750A which is free standing and has a back flue. Not that funky but I like it

Try www.euroheat.co.uk or www.wamsler.co.uk/multi-fuel-stoves - not coloured but definitely not trad....

Thanks everyone - I think I saw the carron ones earlier as I was googling - there was a range with a nice duck egg blue colour, I also quite fancy the vibrant red.

I'm in the Algarve so the walls are white, floor tiles are currently terracotta but soon to be changed to a lighter colour, and the log burner is the first thing you see as you walk into the room, so I'm hoping to make it a bit of a feature

Any more ideas gratefully received Smile - our cats also love the fire, our current one has a gap at the bottom and there's always one tucked up inside it!
