Found a nice grey and I love white gloss

Always have posts on what's a nice grey...well just painted living room in Goose Down by dulux which is in their standard paint range. It's a shade darker than polished pebble, which we had before and is really warm and cosy for a grey.

Also, I've followed the fashion for satinwood and I've gone back to gloss..I'm so glad..wipe clean and crisp! I shall make it my mission to make gloss fashionable again!

Looks lovely. I'm quite partial to grey and white.

Looks very nice! I prefer gloss too.

Another fan of gloss! Though it does seem to yellow rather quickly these days. A decorator explained to me that this was because of regulations to remove toxic ingredients in the paint, though (don't know whether this is true). Wish there was some non-toxic way to get stuff that stays white.

Dammit, I posted too soon. Mean to say, the combination of gloss and grey looks super.

It's beautiful Mrsladybird.
We're decorating the kitchen in grey as I type and I'm insisting on gloss for the woodwork as we have satinwood everywhere else and it's proved impossible to clean.

Gloss rules. We tried satinwood, and it does dry quickly and not smell so much and is faster to paint on....but white gloss still rules.

Love grey and white. Love gloss too! Usually go with satinwood or similar as gloss takes Soooooo long to dry and a teenager or dog touches it!

After using a good quality eggshell I'd never touch gloss again, have had no issues cleaning it and the best part, you get to reuse the paint brush that you put it on with!

I love that colour. Am contemplating grey for my living room. It looks very crisp at the side of the woodwork.

Am very jealous when I look at my fingerprinted walls with bits of Egyptian Cotton washed off to reveal contractors magnolia.

Dulux Diamond Matt or Leyland Hardwearing Matt are washable, even mildly scrub-able.
I have it on my walls and it wipes down beautifully. (Dried on curry has been washed / scrubbed off and left no trace).

I love grey and gloss! Our sitting room is Valspar "British Shorthair".

Thanks Billy! I don't really like silk but definitely need scrubbable here. Ds is a monster.

If he isn't finding crayons and drawing oN the walls he is leaving chocolate handprints or grubby feet marks on them.

We know he is getting taller by the height of the ride mark up the walls!

The two paints I mention aren't silk froubylou; they're matt and really, really hardwearing.
I wouldn't use anything else now, and, yes, I too get those ride marks from the grandsons....One had to wear boots and bar for his talipes and the grey marks left by the metal of those wiped off a treat.

That's what I meant Billy, that I don't like silk so thanks for a matt alternative. I can never get silk to go on as smoothly as matt and end up doing 3 coats.

My house would be lovely if it wasn't for kids and the dog and dp. Mucky, messy lot they are!

Oh that grey is gorgeous, might choose it for our new house! (Much prefer satin though!)

If you have good taste, there never has been anything else but gloss paint.

Slothlikesundays looks great! Love the yellow on the bunting with the grey.

We've just redecorated our small kitchen in grey too! We used eggshell paint, which has a nice sheen but is really hard-wearing.
