Removing name from title deeds

Just watched Land Registry video about completing AP1. How do the registry verify the transaction is legal? Husband and I separating and he is buying me out. I believe I should removed from title on this property to avoid paying the second home additional stamp duty? Any advice about what I should be aware of?

If you are submitting the application yourselves you will also need to provide completed ID1s. The conveyancer who completes these will check your identity which assures Land Registry it's above board. If you have a solicitor they will complete the AP1 for you after verifying your identity.

Thanks. Husband has submitted and I suspect not done correctly.

Make sure it is done, not only for stamp duty on second homes - if your husband stops paying the mortgage (assuming there is one), the lender will expect you to pay.

Yes. It must be done correctly so bracing myself for the usual spat. Thanks for responses.
