What is it like living in Cuffley?

I'm six months pregnant and we are going through the process of moving to Cuffley. Can anyone advise what it's like living there, especially with a baby or young children? Are there many good baby groups nearby? Is the primary school a happy place for children?

Cuffley is a very lovely affluent little village. I'm very close by and in the 2+ years I've lived here I've noticed a Costa (very popular) and another Estate agents open-all good signs. There are a good few bungalows so expect to see a high proportion of elderly residents. Don't let that scare you as there are many well to-do families around as well.
my children attend cuffley school and I am very happy with the school and its management. The academic standards are high (it's very competitive as many children are also tutored).
Cuffley library (limited hours) has a well stocked children's section and they do hold a toddler group, as does Goff LIbrary (literally 2 min drive from Cuffley high street)
Many mums I speak to in Cuffley do go into Potters Bar or Ware to access more baby groups or use the sports/ leisure facilities which also offer baby swim etc
Word of warning: there is a proposal to build a massive development (I believe in green land); including a hospital, schools, hundreds of flats and houses. It is facing slot of opposition from locals. And if you live anywhere near Cuffley school it can get terribly smelly because the farm closely composts hugely large amounts of (Eco?) waste
Lack of a supermarket in Cuffley means a very short drive to the Huge Tesco superstore in nearby EN8 which has a M&S and likes of Topshop, NExt etc close by
I highly rate Cuffley and hope you will to x

Tilgear are in Cuffley! An absolutely fabulous tool shop. Wood turning stuff, japanese saws and knives and loads of other interesting things.

Yours sincerely

Thanks for the information. I know about the development and that the compost smells so bad the school children smell it in the summer when they are on the field. I expected to hear its competitive but as long as it's a happy school that's all that matters. Thanks for the info re baby groups. I'm looking forward to that and to being part of a nice community, I hope.

I have a relative who lives in Cuffley. She's pretty happy there and I've visited the place a few months back. It's a great community. My bet, you won't regret your decision.
