Removal insurance

Experience please!

Have 2 removal quotes. Removals are covered under my home insurance policy as long as professionals are used.

One has insurance added on, when I asked to take it off as I was already covered they said it was mandatory. Their explanation was that my insurers would just try and claim from them so they had to sell their own cover (?)

The other quote has insurance as an optional add on. (But is more expensive)

What are other people's experience? it's around 10% of the overall cost and I think I'm already covered, so don't really want to pay more than I need to.

We went for movers that didn't add on their own insurance we had cover under our home insurance too. We had no problems. The company that includes insurance are just saying that to get your business.

Thanks, that's useful.

I don't know why charging me for something I don't want or need would get them the business! On every other criteria i prefer them though so I'm just deciding how much of a fuss to make.
