Range oven or eye level oven ?

I have always had a built in eye level double oven but really love the look of the range masters that are available.
Has anyone gone from one to the other and do they regret it ?...The thought of bending down puts me off!
I will have to decide soon .

I have just left my wonderful Rangemaster in the old house. I now have 3 built in electrical wonderments! They came with the house. I will be able to use them fully when I have completed an digital electronics degree!

I do like the eye level bit, but I miss my range, it was like an old friend!

Not much help I'm afraid!

DH does most of the 'complicated' cooking (roasts/xmas dinner etc) in our house and he has always hated range/built under cookers. Aside from the inconvenience of bending down to lower levels, they 'steal' valuable storage space as you can't build anything above or below them as you can with eye-level.

We are havving a new kitchen put in soon and are going for an eye-level built in double oven next to a single oven. That way we don't have the inconvenience of having the grill in a large oven cavity.

I really regret buying our Rangemaster. It's awkward to bend down to get stuff out and gets really dirty very quickly. And the main oven (we have one main, one small oven) doesn't like being heated to much more than 200 degrees and refuses to close in protest. My mother has an eye-height Neff oven and I'd go for that every time over ours.

I have a range - go for an eye level one!

I learnt to cook on an Aga. Have had a range, two side by side eye level ovens, am presently back to a range - soon to renovate.

Ideally I would have an Aga. Due to back problems I can't bend and it will be eye level.

We love our range. It's a proper cooker and really makes the kitchen. Eye level is for microwaves.

I guessed it would be eye level !
My oven also seems a lot larger than a range and with six of us we need large ,though I know there is a smaller oven also with a range ...
Eye level it will be ! Thanks ladies

Go for both ! A large range and a built up oven ! There's no rule to say you can't - and catering for six - I'd say it's truly justified !!

Choose the one that compliments the layout best. I use to have an eye level, but current layout demanded a range. I don't really miss the eye level, though it's better for peaking, loading and unloading

At our last house we had eye level. We moved here and there was a stainless steel range (Britannia) - looks nice but was awful. Just having new kitchen fitted having eye level again , 2 regular and one steam oven. Definitely eye level is our vote!

I love our Rangemaster and get on with it far better than our old eye-level and separate hob. It cooks food better, is more versatile with 5 rings and having two ovens plus a grill is great. I don't really notice the bending down. They are hard to clean when they arrive as they are covered with a greasy protective coat, but once this is gone there is no problem. We are vegetarians so have no problems with oven cleaning.
