New utility

We're planning a new kitchen and this involves creating a utility room from scratch. The kitchen will be quite large and we are planning on using an independent kitchen designer/installer for this, but we aren't sure what to do about the utility room. Our kitchen budget is about £25,000 max (including new appliances), but we don't want to spend much on the utility, so my question is, is it acceptable to go to somewhere like Homebase/B&Q/Wickes for this? The utility will be approx 2.3m x 4m and I was thinking of saving money with laminate worktops instead of quartz etc. and using cheaper units. Obviously the styles won't match exactly, so is this a mistake and should we use the kitchen people to do the utility too? Thanks.

Is the utility visible from the kitchen? If not, then yes, use Homebase/B&Q/Wickes etc.

We have had the same cabinetry in our utility room but went with laminate worktops which are similar in design to the quartz ones in the kitchen. At first glimpse they look the same.

If you aim for similar style and colour tones I think it will be fine ! It's not like you'll be entertaining in there ( hey come and watch my washing go round ? - nah !) enjoy the process !
