Small 3 bed semi, has anyone got an idea what this will cost? Got a builder coming to quote tomorrow but always struggle to find people to do small jobs.

Pointing isn't really a small job is it? We had ours done the other week and it was just one guy by himself but it took all week.

A lot of the cost will depend on whether they need scaffolding. We didn't, and had the front of our terraced house done, cost £1,000.

My parents had their semi done and it cost £2,000.

Small compared to an extension, loft conversion etc! Thanks, that's pretty much what I expected.

Ha, I'd tell one side, the other allowed her builder to take down my garden fence to build her extension without asking me first! Karma ;)

I had just the front wall of my 3-bed semi (so a bit less than one quarter of the whole exterior) done for 400 including scaffolding. Was done by builders who are doing lots of work for me. I'm in north herts.

It took two of them a day.

We have just had ours done for £4300 in a Northern city. Ours is a 4-bed detached house so there was a lot of wall to do. They did it all with a tower rather than scaffolding, which kept the cost down - we have no gable ends (roof hipped on all sides) so they didn't have to go very high IYSWIM. It was really not a small job, we had 3 men on-site for over 2 weeks. And OMG the dust Shock, the entire street looked like Mars and I kept apologising to the neighbours Blush.

Thanks everyone, certainly a lot of variety. Waiting for the quote to come now but he said it only needed doing in patches so fingers crossed.
