Outside the bedroom, or a shorter hallway and three steps in our bedroom?

Which do you think would be better?

I'm in the middle of an extension and need to decide... My brain hurts :/

With three steps in the bedroom I'd be afraid of tripping in the middle of the night. At least outside the bedroom you know where they are.
