Bathroom design experts, can you please advise?

I have a small-ish downstairs loo and will re-hang the door so it opens out, in order to get a basin in at the end, centred in the wall rather than the teeny corner basin I currently have. How much clearance do you need to walk past a basin? I have one in mind - the Pure basin from Bathstore here www.bathstore.com/products/pure-one-piece-basin-and-pedestal-2067.html

It's 512 deep, which doesn't leave much room to walk past it!

What would you advise?

I'm no expert but I think that's too big. It's a gorgeous basin but I think that (a) it's too deep for a downstairs cloakroom and (b) the beauty of the thing is looking at it straight on to appreciate the shape, not hung on a side wall.
Of course, I don't know the size of your room but i think once a basin starts going beyond a third of the available width of the downstairs cloakroom it's out of proportion.
It's the same size as my kitchen sink.

It depends on the dimensions of your room. When you say "smallish" what do you mean? I think most cloakroom basins project somewhere between 20 and 30 cm, that one is over 50cm (but agree, it is lovely).

I had the same problem. It took me ages but in the end I found a well designed corner basin which doesn't protrude much and has space for soap etc on the side.

My downstairs toilet is tiny in size but this basin fits great and does not feel small at all. I have the matching towel rail which goes underneath. Overall it's a very neat solution and makes the small space very usable. A centred basin would have been unworkable.

The Pure basin, lovely though it is, is too big for a small room. It wastes too much space.

How big is your cloakroom?

Why not replace the corner basin with a bigger one?

GrinI wanted it for our cloakroom, but the thought of walloping my right hip on the way in, my head on the way up, and my right hip on the way out made me reconsider!
