Why would you write this in your rightmove listing!?

All seems normal-ish in the description, but read down to the very last line!

Confused Shock

How bizarre!

I have NO idea. Is it a legal issue - declaration etc?

I think you have to disclose any burglaries within a certain time period when selling a property. Maybe they're putting it so that people know upfront and aren't put off later once the buying and selling process isn't a later stage?

There are very few photos - perhaps there is some damage that hasn't been fixed?

SecretWitch · 09/03/2016 22:21

How very unusual....wonder why it is mentioned?

wowfudge · 09/03/2016 22:22

You disclose on the property information form. Unless it's happened with alarming regularity I wouldn't have thought it was a big deal.

I wouldn't buy a hiuse that had been recently burgled. Would you?

£650'000 to live in Leighton Buzzard?! Yikes.

Report
wowfudge · 10/03/2016 07:13

Without knowing more about the circumstances of the burglary, it wouldn't be a deal breaker.

Honey I looked at it and thought "oh, £650 grand, that's a nice house for that".

And then I had a word with myself!

But for comparisons sake this is near me at £625,000. And I think that is insane, but property appears to have gone loopy around here.

Oh god that's weird.

I wouldn't be hugely bothered though, we're buying in the wilds of Croydon borough and I can't imagine at least one of the places we viewed hasn't been burgled or attempted at one point or another.

It's a beautiful house though, I love it.

You need to show people all the good things about your house before the legal nitty gritty. A burglary on that type of property is not uncommon (as burglaries go). Any serious buyer will think result as many others would be put off, can't imagine a car salesman being as honest as this about his stock

Maybe they did so much damage that the pictures aren't accurate any more? Otherwise v. odd.

That's a lot of house for 650K - would get you this near me.

Cambridge is ridiculous isn't it? I have to take my dd to the hospital there and I'm shocked at how much those Beirut houses are by the hospital Shock

I'm lol at the last line on that link

Has your mum been burgled?

Beirut houses Owl? Grin Anything near the hospital or in the centre is crazy money. If you go a bit further out things are slightly saner, but still absurd compared with almost anywhere outside London or the commuter belt. Still, for under £600K you could get this house with its very special lighting.

Trumpington? Those square New things? It looks like Beirut. I'm boggled by it :o

Do you mean these ones? Why anyone would pay £1.25m to live there is a mystery.

It's great isn't it? I think the thing over the dining table may be some kind of teleportation device.

It's as if they've got heavily into Simon pegg films and thought they were a documentary.
I wonder if it makes your teeth glow?
