mice/blocking holes/ airvents

hi i have been getting mice and seem to be going in circles trying to get rid of them. i have done all the general things. ie no food about etc. i have blocked holes that i can find inside the house. but ther are probably some i cant see or get to.

now im thinking outside the house there are low level air vents. and i think they may be coming through there. so i wanted to block them. i know i cant 100 block them as i think it would cause damp if i did. so i was thinking i could block all the holes with wire wall. or would this stop the air vent from working. or i could get some wire mesh and criss cross it so the holes are to tiny for mice and the it would still get the air though... the wire wall would be easyer though.

any ideas?

You can buy grilles that you screw into the wall and that will cover air bricks etc.

Screwed up chicken wire can be bunged into pipe and places you can't totally seal. For those you can you can still put screwed up chicken wire in as some rodents will just chew through whatever you seal it with.

We've had the same issue. We had a local pest control company around and they identified lots of potential access holes that we didn't think were a problem (apparently anything larger than 5mm is large enough!). Our house is a 1920s terrace and the original airbricks seem to be the main problem - we were advised to cover them with a fine wire mesh (the holes have to be less than 5mm in size) - the mesh still allows air to circulate. Good luck!
