I love old, quirky houses but this one looks almost too old and creepy!

Could you love this house?

Oooh I could love it! Needs some tlc as it does look a bit on the damp side and the outside needs painting and sorting, but those windows! It could be made very, very lovely.

Bad photo of the stairs - that's what makes it look creepy.

Oh I don't even want to look at the inside photos of that house!

It's going to cost a fortune to strip off all the render and plaster and make it water tight
It's lovely though esp for the money

Oh I bet that house could tell some stories

It looks a million times better on street view.

The outside isn't pretty but inside could be amazing.

I think the photographer has failed it tbh. That budgie wallpaper is very pretty and colourful in real life, a friend has it, it looks dark and depressing on the photo.

Apart from the strange man in the hazard boiler suit!

No. The ceilings are too low and the windows too small. I find the rooms dark and pokey. It isn't for me at all.

It looks totally different on streetview! Definitely think the person taking the photos was having a very off day.

I love it! Although not sure what they were thinking when they opted for a blue fireplace... It does need TLC, but the stairs are nice and I love the stone fireplace. There is a lot of potential there OP

It looks cold and damp.

Bet it could be lovely with some TLC, though.

The downstairs and stairway are pretty creepy!

It's the sort of quietly

Posted by accident too soon!

...it's the sort of quirky place that is love to have loads of money to make it gorgeous though.

I live in a relatively nearby town and I'm always looking for properties in our price-range, but I really don't think I could ever be comfortable in this house, or that I could visit it and feel any warmth or potential. Maybe it's just the poor photos and the house has a much nicer atmosphere. I think it's probably sold now as the closing date has passed, although it still seems to active on Zoopla. I think I must be more conventional than I like to think I am.

I have my eye on this: www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-36380949.html

(not really - it's about 20x what I could afford)

Prices seem so disproportionate when you get to this end of the market though. Look how many rooms/how much square footage the Kent house has in comparison - it doesn't add up!!

Lovely view from the bedroom though and soooo much light Grin

I think it has SO much potential! We're SE though so it seems crazy what you get for your money. A C17 villa for less than 200k! You don't get a mobile home for that here.

Hmm, nice photo of the wheelie bin, but yes, very cold and damp looking

Well, it's obviously damp on the walls, but I can't work out whether the dark patches on the floors e.g. In front of the blocked-up fireplace are also damp-related or whether they're bloodstains...

The closing date has passed. I wonder what it went for?

The Ramsgate house is amazing. It used to be a children's home. I bet it's got a few stories to tell too.

I love it - and it seems such a good price, is it likely to go for much over that d'you think?

It reminds me a lot of our last house, that had a very dark, creepy feel when we viewed in 2011 --not helped by lack of lighting downstairs and a power cut the day we viewed......
