I really like the marquee metal style light up letters which are around at the mo. Toying with the idea of 4 together spelling love in my bedroom on one wall. Will iy look fucking hideous or a nice feature. Opinions please

I'm going for naff, not my thing.

But then I am an old gimmer smile

MilkAndFenty Tue 23-Feb-16 23:43:25

I really like them. They have to be the good kind though

Cressandra Tue 23-Feb-16 23:44:53

Who cares? It's your bedroom. Even if you care what other people think in other rooms, it's the most private room in the house. Definitely the place to just do what the hell you like.

Monty27 Tue 23-Feb-16 23:46:50

Ewwwww. But yes, if you like them, crack on. May they give you great joy. smile

£9.99 in homebargains. Although if hb are selling them off cheap that usually means they are already out of fashion.
But cheap enough not to mind getting rid in 6 months when bored of it grin

Oh dear. What could I have instead

yomellamoHelly Wed 24-Feb-16 10:35:13

I really like them. But have LOVE letters somewhere else in the house so wouldn't get them for myself, iyswim. Unless they cost the earth I'd say go for them and get rid when you get fed-up with them. (Qualification: I like the whole hanging hearts, cut-outs from ordnance survey maps, motivational phrases, family tree etc thing too....)

Have you looked at Goodwin and Goodwin? Expensive but really lovely.

MilkAndFenty Wed 24-Feb-16 10:52:01

And the seletti neon lights can look great too.

letters belong in books IMHO. But it's your bedroom, you like it, go ahead!

LovelyFriend Thu 25-Feb-16 07:17:16

" Letter belong in books"
Well we would all be pretty fucked without letters belonging on signs too grin

specialsubject Thu 25-Feb-16 10:57:13

fair dos grin

but another thread shows a big sign above the bath that says 'bath'. Do we need to go that far? wink

TwilightRabbit Thu 25-Feb-16 11:00:50

Not naff unless they spell out 'sex' or 'live laugh love' imho.

LovelyFriend Thu 25-Feb-16 11:04:38

I'm firmly in the absolutely not camp! smile

I think the DD's would like their first initials in lights though.

shovetheholly Thu 25-Feb-16 13:23:52

I think if you must have light-up letters you should use them to spell a big shiny 'FUCK'.

Hennifer Thu 25-Feb-16 14:13:13

I've got some huge metal vintage letters which I found in a skip. They are lovely. Unfortunately all there was, was a K and a Y.

Still - it was cheaper than Pedlars grin

MissTessmacher Thu 25-Feb-16 14:14:51

Is all.

Jetcatisback Thu 25-Feb-16 14:18:38

Hennifer you could go all abstract and find a picture of some jelly to go after your letters? wink

Hennifer Thu 25-Feb-16 14:22:29

I am very fond of them.

220hawthorn Thu 25-Feb-16 14:25:31

NOt a fan of quotes all over the place. If you want breakfast in bed sleep in the kitchen and all that old crap. Will have to give this some more thought. In my bathroom i have metal wall signs with adverts on, one for a digestive cure all, one for a laxative fron 1940 and i have just ordered one which is a repro ad for Thomas crappers wares. Those are quite different rather than bathe etc

Jetcatisback Thu 25-Feb-16 14:25:52

Oh I like them smile

Hennifer Thu 25-Feb-16 14:27:38

It'd be great if they still lit up. I could invite a bloke over and then make them flash on and off suggestively grin

220hawthorn Thu 25-Feb-16 14:30:31

Hennifer .. What I want to know is whether that is a penis beaker in between the lettersgrin

Hennifer Thu 25-Feb-16 14:32:05

ahem blush

No, it is a random piece of glassware. I am sorry if this is disappointing.
