Ours is tiny, full of coats and shoes and a dog lead which no one can bear to throw away even though we haven't had a dog for over a year. Don't do it like ours....

Mine is very bland atm, I need to jazz it up a bit but not sure what to do.
Tiles would be great I think.

Why do you need inspiration yours lookslike it belongs in a house magazine - yes that is a compliment! Mine is tiny so has just a mirror and pthe floor is totally clear so no room for bumping into anything. Wish ut was wider esoecially when visitors arrive.

What about doing something bold with your stairs? Colour down the middle?

You could paint the wall your clock is on?

Oh thank you wavingnow you've really made me smile.
I think it's more the flooring I'm looking to change, possibly white stone tiles. ?

If I had your hallway I would add wainscoting to the 2/3 mark and run it up the stairs too. I would also add a runner to the stairs to add texture and depth. I'd then add a large mirror over your radiator to reflect the light coming in from your stairwell and replace the smaller mirror you currently have with a piece of art.

Fuckynell - your hallway is beautiful.

redhat - great suggestions thank you, we have been thinking about a runner on the stairs.

Obs2016 - thank you 💐 ( when you see something everyday perhaps you lose appreciation )

I think the bones of your hall are gorgeous but if I were you I would strip the paint from the stair treads and either leave them bare and add a runner or polish the tops and paint the runners white. The stairs don't "go" with the hall flooring in my opinion so they need tieing together better.

OP - I would remove the vases in your hall way. You should put a large (but in proportion) antique mirror above the radiator on the left and you need some prints or other activity on the walls. A Grasshopper floor lamp would also add interest.

Wow fuckynell if I lived in your house I'd spend all my time in the hallway! It's lovely!

Op your hall is really nice. My only thought would be to put a runner on the stairs but that's already been mentioned so I have nothing to add!

I would put runner on the stairs. Rug in the hall and paint the walls a colour. But then I'm a colour fan.

Your hall is very similar to ours. We have a large mirror above the radiator but can see you already have a mirror on the other wall. Maybe some art work? 3 framed pictures in a row? You could put a runner on your stairs, the brown is quite dark and a runner would lift it.

It's lovely though Smile

A runner on the stairs & a large mirror above the readiator it is then 😀

& Clara, yes, I agree the stairs & hall flooring don't quite 'go' - ( summer project haha )

The colour of the chair at the bottom of the stairs is lovely but I think having half the bottom stair blocked off would annoy me.

I agree it's really lovely. Re chair at the bottom of the stairs, we have some vintage cinema chairs in our hall, fold down for putting your shoes on but they fold away when you've finished using them.

We got them from an antique market near us but they often have them on ebay.
