Hi, just had a quote for a new CH system - new boiler, new pipes, moving some copper piping to under the floorboards and a magnaclean and new radiators - £9,600.
How does that sound (apart from blimmin' expensive?) in terms of value? It's a long established company and includes a guarantee.
At the moment, the house we've just bought (a two bed house from 1900, in London) has no working boiler and was apparently badly fitted throughout.
Are we about to get ripped off if we go ahead? We may need a home improvement loan to pay for part of it. The guy said the cheaper option (new boiler and pipes) may cost us more in the long term as the wrong size piping has been installed throughout and the magnaclean is in the wrong place.
Needless to say, I'm totally clueless about costs. Help!
