We've bought a 1970s house which we'll be renovating relatively soon. I'm looking for finger parquet (perhaps) or some sort of hardwood floor that will look appropriate. Regarding general interior styles, Were thinking 70s shapes, but modern colours so the house doesn't look like my grannys house.

I'd quite to get my paws on reclaimed parquet and get it laid and sanded....but really don't know where to look, and we dont want to pay a fortune as we have kids n dogs and is the whole thing worth the effort? I'm sure laying and sanding will cost a fortune.

We bought our parquet from ebay and did the cleaning, sanding and laying ourselves hard work cleaning and sanding but laying was quite straight forward. If this isn't an option you try a
company called parquet parquet which does reclaimed. I think from memory about £20 square metre but this may need cleaning of bitumen and nail removal.
I also found a company on line which laid and sanded again a similar price per square metre. Unfortunately I can't remember their name, but I'm sure if you Googled you'd find something similar. Good luck.

Thanks for the info, v helpful. We're too dopey to be trusted with doing it ourselves, I know we'd screw it up.

Im veering towards just getting some engineered hardwood down....
