New bathroom on a budget

Have just had an offer accepted on my forever hopefully home bit it needs some modernising.

The bathroom hasn't been changed since the 80s and has a separate loo & bath/sink.

Working on the basis I would source the new bath, sink & loo and they would go in the same place (just minus the wall) is it unrealistic to think I could expect it to be done in a day? If so how much would the labour be likely to cost?

The which guide makes it sound like 6-8 hours work.

As long as all the actual plumbing is done I could cope with waiting a bit longer to tile, lay the floor and paint.

I think that removing the wall is going to mean that you need a plasterer. That means taking out the old, plastering and reinstalling. If that's true you'll have to wait for the plaster to dry in between. So it's won't be possible in a day.

Sorry forgot to mention we will have done the wall removing before booking plumber so in effect it would be the same as just replacing a normal bathroom suite?

We sourced an ex-display suite (£200 ish) and got a local plumber to fit it (£200 ish too). Took less than a day, all fitted in same places, same plumbing. This was about 15 years ago though!

Exciting! We've just done exactly the same thing. Our whole room needed plastering once the wall was down and old tiles off because it was so uneven. You'll need to do that where the current loo door is anyway. Plasterer charged £400 and it needed 5 days to dry. I had the whole room tiled with tiles from walls and floors (excellent service and very good value). The builder charged £900 to knock through, block one door up, remove old tiles, board ceiling, fit new door and take all the rubbish away. He also boxed in the bath. Hope that helps.
