We are set to exchange next week but cannot complete until March 1st 2016 as our rental agreement runs until May. The sellers are fine with this but I can't find anyone willing to insure us. I've tried Churchill, LV and Hiscox but they all said no. Has anyone had experience of buildings insurance for a long gap between exchange and completion?
Our only other option is to complete in February and start paying on the mortgage earlier. Churchill said that they could insure the home if the period between exchange and completion was a maximum of 60 days.
