Multiple agents

Has anyone listed with multiple agents and is this worth it? We are really desperate to sell. We are seeing another outfit who claims that their firm can market into central London for families looking to move further out for schools, etc.

I am a bit cynical about this - I reckon people just look on Rightmove, so not sure what value this adds really.

Says our pictures could be better and there are too many...I just wonder if this sort of thing really DOES make a difference, if there is a small receipt in a bowl on the table...

Also - when they say: We have people on our books, etc. am I right to wonder why they aren't just ringing up our current estate agent having seen on Rightmove??

I don't know. I am sad and cynical.

We've done an open day etc. Would a second look desperate? On less than a month.

If you are desperate to sell then the quickest move is to make sure the price is a tiny smidge below just right - not too low as people will wonder why.

Post a link here for opinions on your photos etc.

SO our current estate agent thinks we've already done that...I'm frightened he may be wrong though. But I am not sure I want to plant a reduction yet...happy to PM photos...I'm suddenly shy about posting online...don't know why!

Cant see the point. Multiple agents all putting the same photos and particulars of your house multiple times underneath each other in the search on Rightmove, Primelocation, Zoopla doesn't make it more visible to buyers.

I always think it looks daft when I do property searches and just reveals you are desperate. One agent is much like any other now that every house for sale is on the internet.

One month is a very short time to gave been on the market and you are right to think that another agent won't make much difference. As long as you are showing on rightmove and zoopla you only need to make sure the price is right. Unfortunately this is not the best time to market your house. If you really do need a quick sale then you need to make the price spot on or even a little less than comparable properties. Good luck.

I don't see the point of using two agents. The house we bought this year had two agents trying to sell it. One of them went rogue and kept trying to show people round after we had had our offer accepted. It all got a bit nasty and we nearly pulled out because of it. I don't think it adds anything as, like you say, any agent worth their salt is on Rightmove anyway.

I'm not sure but I think there might be circumstances in which you would have to pay both agents a fee, too.

We were always put off by houses with multiple agents made us suspicious that desperate to sell as something wrong with house and didn't seem to make houses go quicker.
