Traditional style 'standard lamps'?

Think they are mainly called floor lamps now but anyway, I want one in a sort of semi traditional style but can't find one suitable. I don't mean traditional as in the ones I could probably get from older relatives- wooden spindly base, huge shade with tassels. No.

I just mean not chrome with 32 different halogen bulbs pointing off in various directions. I don't want that. I have a lovely table lamp that has a sort of cracked effect ceramic base with butterflies and a largish plain shade, and I want something that would complement that - it fits the overall style of the room.

Help, please - it seems such things don't exist.

Try auction / antiques shop? You could always replace the tassely shade with something more modern
