What is your choice of neutral hallway paint colour?

We need something neutral. We have about 30 tester pots tried all on the wall already! Am not sure though. It's not a big hallway.
We have Snowfall in the living room and Egyptian Cotton in bedrooms. So I guess we should have some other type of neutral in hallway as the stair runner will be colourful.

Watching with interest! I have a Laura Ashley paint (Pale Ivory) I like but it won't wear well. Am going to ask decorator to colour match in dulux I think

We have F&B Oxford Stone below the dado rail and Crown Solo Wheatgrass above. We tried numerous testers before picking the darker shade as the light is different in different areas.

We have Dulux Timeless all throughout the house. I love that it picks up the colours from the rest of the room.

We painted ours white as I wanted it to look bright and airy, as we have a stripped red stair carpet and used accessories like pictures, photo's to give it punch of colour, love my hallway.

Dulux Natural hessian. Had it in our old house and will be having it in our new house. Love it.

We have natural hessian in our kitchen. It's very nice.

I have heard a lot about Dulux timeless. Am going to look into it

Natural calico. It's a lighter version of natural hessian, which we also have in other rooms.

We have natural calico too, in our living room. And natural wicker in DS's room. We like our neutral colours Grin.

Natural Hessian Dulux is our go to paint for neutral walls. Having said that, when we had it next to a dark honey coloured wood floor, it looked wrong. We ended up going for Magnolia because it worked! I guess it depends on the floor. Natural Hessian does go well with purples, oranges, blues, dark grey.

Dulux Just Walnut is lovely. Despite the name, it's a soft grey. In our hall we have Dulux porcelain Doll, which is a light grey.

The name 'just walnut' always put me off. I though it made it sound as if it would be beige.

It's bloody gorgeous.

Next thing we know there will be a Daily Mail article about 300 shades of beige and how MN are obsessed with it! Grin

Homebase fresh linen is a beautiful neutral. Just walnut dulux paint is also lovely. Seven sisters from vaspar is a good warm white.

F&B Oxford Stone!

F&B aficionados - how do you find it wears?

We have a 1 and a 2 year old and another on the way imminently. 1 and 2 year old are good and don't draw on walls etc but we have loads of hall to cover. Decorator seems to think that f&B not good for high traffic area and little hands touching walls.

Dulux timeless in their hard wearing formula.

I have a toddler, an 8 year old and a jumpy adolescent dog. My walls get SCRUBBED. Frequently. It still looks great :D

LB - is that the diamond matt? Does it look shiny?

F&B wears very well. IME decorators favour either Dulux or Crown or trade paint. I have used it everywhere in various houses.
However, we currently have Dulux natural calico in hall and dog room as its cheap for touching up and wears /scrubs well

F&b doesnt wear well in our house. 2 big dogs and 2 small kids. I'm frequently touching up

Decorator seems to think it's a bit chalky (whilst being a nice paint)

I like the Laura Ashley stuff we have in the bedrooms etc but I don't think it would wear well in high traffic areas

Dec has offered to colour match a dulux for the hall so wondering whether to go for that

Also watching with interest. My sil is looking for the perfect greige for her whole new house. I love f&b, even muted tones of dulux etc I've tried in the past look garish in comparison. I'm always amazed at how much more intense a colour is when it's over a whole room - it's so hard to tell from the little swatches
