Work surfaces - colour?

We are getting a new kitchen. It is going to be fairly modern with white matt cupboard doors and units. We are kind of decided on a Corian surface in a light neutralish colour. This will blend with the stone floor we are planning on. We had originally in mind a black granite, but I thought that might be a bit dated now. Any thoughts or recommendations on worktops please would be welcome.

I would go for a wooden work top or possibly grey which is more subtle than Black

It's probably too much white but I love my white Corian worktop with integrated double sink. I bleach it down once in a while and it gleams. My units are a greedy grey. My thinking was if I want to change the colour of the doors the white worktop will always match ok.

I have white and it shows all the crumbs, but it looks fab. I would choose white again but perhaps add a bit of a speckle or glitter.
