Driveway Cost?

Anyone had a driveway made recently - and how much did you pay - south east?

We have small 1 and half car space which we're tginking of paving or gravelling - any ideas on cost/experience/recommendations would be great.

Sorry not able to answer your question, but cheekily butting in to see the responses Grin
I am desperate to get ours done but the only quote we have had is 16k which DH thinks is ridiculous.

Relatives had a drive block paved. Think small semi. Small front garden paved, they can now park 2 cars on it and down the side of house. You could probably get 2 cars nose to nose at the side. They paid £6k about 3 years ago (north yorks).

We paid £3k last year to get rid of Tarmac and put down gravel for 2 cars and a front lawn. North west.

4.5k for 8mx4m of block paving.

Cheers all- I'm certainly hoping for less than £4k - any more than that and I'll stay parking on the street!

I'm going to get some quotes in over the next week or 2 - so will let you know.

And if anyone else has a price - pls chip in!

Thanks sacbina - perhaps I couls stretch to £4.5 - Is that normal block or any sort of special design?
Did it include any drains work or garden clearance?

It was cash in hand to our builders on top of the other contracted work they had done. We're in London. There was one drain, nothing fancy. They had done such a fantastic job on the rest of the house it made the driveway look even worse than normal. Had to get it done and was so worth it.
