I can imagine tedious. To get from north of Cambridge (eg Cottenham) to the private schools by eg 8am you need to leave 7am. Oundle puts you the other side of the M11/A14 interchange. And the A14 is tedious too.

Would this be a one off thing or regular ? It's a one hour drive if you can pick your time, probably 2 hours to be safe for school gate times

Id go way up from tedious to horrendous.

I was trying not to be too negative..... But horrendous is probably nearer the truth !

It takes me an hour to drive just under 10 miles to Trumpington when the schools are in. I would move house rather than attempt that journey everyday. Makes me feel stressed just thinking about it!

Another one saying horrendous. Especially in the morning.
The afternoon might be slightly better depending on what time the 'school pick up' is, except on a Friday when it will definitely be horrendous again regardless of the time.

Does this help?

I guess you could take on the A14, the M11 and then park and ride the Cambridge bit ? I don't know when traffic starts queueing off the M11- I'm sure someone would be able to answer.

It starts queueing from 7:30am. Honestly it's awful. Is the Perse really worth it???
