Of course it bloody isn't! It would seem the only toilet seat that will fit my toilet is this one that costs £79!!!!

Did you buy my old house-sorry! We didn't think when we bought it.

We bought the toilet from wickes (never again). It might be cheaper there.

Afraid not, fool. The porcelain part is 39cm wide, so the seat needs to be a bit wider than that.

The really annoying thing is that even if we shell out for the Ideal Standard one, reviews of it are pretty poor!

Will check Wicks, superram.

Yes - that's our toilet too!

Yes we have that one! Had to replace it recently, shopped around online and found it a bit cheaper but not much

Where did you get it from?

We used to have a loo that was a funny shape. The best way I can describe it is butternut squash shaped. We could not find a new seat for love nor money. Ended up having to get a whole new loo. A bog standard bog is fairly cheap in Wickes thank God!

I have wanky loos too. Replacement seats are £100+.

Yep, a nightmare! Our loo is a bog !!! standard shape. Still nigh on impossible to buy a loo seat. They are all 'shaped' . All we needed is an egg shaped seat, three seats of various prices later!!!! , we got one its not perfect but will have to do.
You would think a toilet is a toilet, but no , between the rim size, the 'hole' size, space between hinges, distance from end to seat to cistern ( so the damn thing will stay up! ) even the colour of white!!!!! The prices go from 'bendy plastic cheap' to more expensive than a new loo!!!
It's one of the most frustrating purchases
I've made in a long time.
Can you tell it drove me mad Angry

Is this it? Still not cheap but slightly better priced.

Oh yes, ours is Ideal Standard too, and we've had to replace it once. The toilet doesn't flush very well either!

I'm afraid not, hell, that one has straight sides. This is the evil thing. www.ideal-standard.co.uk/product-details/toilet-seat-and-cover/e7091.html

And yes, the flush is rubbish!

We don't have a loo seat on our upstairs toilets - makes them easy to clean. They've got thick rims though.

OMG and sorry about reviving a zombie thread but I have this loo and need a new seat.
It is now £89!!! How can it have gone up £10 in 2 years?! And the reviews are awful!
I am impressed that MN came up with the answer to my "replacement round loo seat"google though.
I'm having a thrilling Sunday Grin

Cheaper to replace the whole loo.
Dh just replaced ours, cheapy ones at £50 each including the seat. They use less water and are closer to the wall than the old ones too, win win.

@SquinkiesRule not your bad at all, all mine - which loo did you get? Was it suitable for a corner? If so can you pm me a link?

SquinkiesRule · 09/05/2017 10:17

It wasn't a corner loo, normal looking from B&Q this It looks like they have changed it slightly, ours doesn't have the indentation on the top of the tank, and the seat isn't and bulbous if that makes sense. Same name.
