Removing old screws?

I want to take down an old hanging basket bracket but the slot head screws have very little 'slot' left after 20yrs out in all weathers. They're not rusty though. Any ideas how to get the bracket off the wall without clumping it one? grin (I don't own a drill)

Can use use a junior hacksaw to make the slot bigger to fit a large screwdriver?

Brilliant idea but the screws are flush so I'd cut into the bracket a bit.

dremel or similar.

Or wrench off the bracket and the screws will probably pull out, leaving an untidy large hole.

If you can expose enough of the head or shaft, a mole wrench will help you unscrew it.

Thank you all. In the end, an old painter friend of mine came round whilst I was out & pulled it off!! Ah well, job done, but I would have liked to test the ideas to see if I could manage it. I'm left with holes, but not too bad as the wall is pebbledashed, so a bit of filler, a stuck pebble & a dob of paint & bobs your uncle. smile.

Thank you!
