Hi everyone im new to this...my friends say if you want to get answers this is the place to go. I have 3 children under 3 and were moving as we need more space. It isn't the greatest area of the town that we live in but for some reason the prices have gone up here so for the first time in years we can move and turn a little profit. As we aren't rolling in it we have put an offer in on a repo property in order to get somewhere larger but in a better area for our children to grow up in. Were now on countdown to moving day, but im worried as ive read about how these properties can get sabotaged by the previous owners (holes in gas pipes etc) and I wondered if anyone out there knows if you can complete on a different day to everyone else in the chain if you are at the bottom like me, buying a vacant property? Your advice would be much appreciated, as I was hoping to get in there and make sure it's safe for my babies before they spend their first night in it. Thanks in advance.

I would I've the same concerns to be honest. I would get a full survey done, it's expensive especially when you have moving costs by way but I dont think you can be to careful when you have children especially with boilers.
