Measuring alcoves for Jali shelves

The idea of some bookcases from Jali to fill a pair of alcoves is very appealing, in part because it looks like the most affordable option. I'm nervous though as I'd like these to be as fitted as possible and I think it will be difficult to get the measurements right (Victorian house, with no doubt slightly irregular walls and corners).

Does anyone have any experience of doing this? Any tips on measurement?
