What colour is your hall/stairs/landing?

Ours is currently a horrible yellow.

Half papered & half painted.

It's getting decorated at the end of March.

It needs to be a light colour. One colour under the dado & another at the top.

Just wondering what colour to paint it. I don't like blue. Don't really want green either.

I'm just afraid I will end up with boring shades of beige!

Have just changed ours from previous owners 2 shades of yellow to black below dado, creamy off white above with brilliant white woodwork. It looks very chic and surprisingly much lighter than it previously was, I was worried as downstairs is quite dark as there are no windows but it looks great. I think it helps that it's a Victorian house so the proportions of wall above 2/3rds means that the dark paint >1/3rd doesn't overwhelm the wall just grounds it. I saw something similar on F&B website with a dark plum colour that worked well too if black is too scary.

Lots of ideas here, thank you. It's quite a large space. It's a 70's house.
Not very light though.

I love purple, but sadly wouldn't suit that space.

We don't need the dado but it's lots of work to remove it. Plus I think it will be nice to have 2 colour shades.

Unfortunately previous owners painted all the wood chip a lovely hideous shade of deep olive. Goes beautifully with deep Victorian cornicing Shock
