Moving gas and electric meters

Hello, anyone know how I can get a fairly accurate cost of moving both gas and electric meters? They are currently located under the stairs but leaving them there renders the current cloakroom space useless as the sanitary wear is so old I wouldn't be able to replace like for like. I would prefer an exterior white box so literally involves moving both to the other side of an exterior wall. Any guidance gladly received!

It has to be done by the owner of the pipes/cables and meter. If you ask your gas and electricity suppliers (preferably by short letter) they can pass the request on. Don't waste your time phoning Mumbai. Send one letter for gas and one letter for electricity.

Word your letter that you are willing to have the meters on the outside of the house to make it easier to read them. If they think it is for their benefit, not yours, it may be cheaper.

It must not be done by a private electrician or gas fitter.

It cost me nearly £500 to have mine moved from under the stairs to the front of the house (directly over where the pipe / cable ) came in.

It was undiluted stress including reporting the Gas man for shirking his job (with photos to show him reading the paper in his van not working)

Getting them both to come on the same day to WEEKS and lots of letters.
