Hi im new to this so dont really know what ime doing but here goes:
So i have an 18month old little princess who is my world, we live in a 3bed house (loft conversion into 2rooms) and she is in one of them. Both rooms have damp, her room is ridiculous its everywhere iv had the letting agents out, the landlord and environmental health and nothing is getting done! There is no insulation in the whole house what so ever so it's constantly freezing even with the heating on, i get her up in a morning and bring her downstairs and within ten minutes her hands are stone cold and turning purple, iv no idea what im to do ?? i ferl like im failing her as a mother its heartbreaking, i just want to move iv applyed for a few council houses and heard nothing. And i cant afford to go through estate agents again they charge too much and i dont work ??any suggestions ill take, im running out of things to do. Thank you xxx

Have you contacted Shelter? I'm a big fan of their advice lines - a good combination of knowledge of helpfulness.

Yes i was told to go down the environmental health root but environmental health were useless, when she came alone to check house she was saying how bad it was.. Soon as our landlord showed up she was up his ass. It was pathetic.. :( x

I don't have much advice I'm afraid, just wanted to say that you gave my sympathy and landlords can be (often are!) arseholes. Have you spoken to citizens advice? Definitely keep kicking up a fuss and don't take no for an answer.

I would try and move as if you go the complaints route the landlord will probably retaliate with eviction. I feel for you, how the hell did this and previous governments let this happen? I hear this regularly with retaliation action from some creep landlord. Time for your age group to protest methinks , and vote too, although I cant see any of them that are worthy of a vote at this time.
