Hello all. We have had problems with our guttering, lots of water dripping down the front wall resulting in seriously soggy bricks. I think it was a dodgy joint on the guttering. A neighbour fixed that, but said the fascia board is looking partly rotten. I have a guttering specialist coming round Wednesday and am wondering what kind of price would be reasonable to have it replaced. we are in South London. it's a smallish terraced maisonette. Thank you.

You can cap fascia boards (cheaper option) or replace (preferable if rotten) and the charges are usually per metre. I think it's approx £60-80 per metre. We have been able to get it priced at £50 per metre but no scaffolding is needed. The material is pretty cheap but the job is manual and often requires scaffolding or scaffolding towers which aren't cheap. Get several quotes, we had a quote for 1.5k for a few metres as the guys thought we were desperate to get it done. Checkatrade might have some recommendations.

We had ours capped as the old ones were really awkward to get at. The guy charged about £1k iirc (3 bed semi)

Thanks guys that is good to know. Will ask the guy for a quote. Our neighbour is a builder, so maybe he can quote us too and I'll compare.
