Let's pretend you have £150k and you don't have to worry about getting a job or providing rooms for children.

Favourite City centre flat or seaside cottage?

This is mine. It wouldn't matter how the flat looks on the inside - I'd spend the whole day looking out of the window Grin.

I'd be loathe to leave London, there's not much there for £150k but this is near Green Lanes and teeny but fairly good for transport and not too far from the centre.

Laurie - Well yes, it is, but isn't it also very dark?

I'd prefer a modern bungalow on the west coast of Ireland overlooking the Atlantic so I could watch the rollers on a stormy day and go swimming on fine days. Somewhere like Lahinch.

god, I'd live 150k, but it still wouldn't be enough for a gorgeous flat in my dream locations...

If price were no object though, I'd buy one in London, or in the Alpes, or Flushing in Falmouth, or in The whitsundays, or, or, or...

Not sure where I'd pick although it would have to have plenty of amenities close by as I don't drive, but wanted to say I find the French cottage depressing too.....but mainly 'cos it reminds me of what our current house looked like internally - wall-to-wall, batcave-like stone yuck - when we bought it!! Sorry Laurie x
