Recommendations for decking - best bang for buck

Hello All,

Looking at decking for balcony and for garden area. About 4-5 square metres and about 20 square metres.

We've looked into bamboo. We're being told 40-50 per square metre depending on whether it's composite or laminate. We'd then have the other components to add.

We're also going to look at hardwood decking and pine. (Not sure which hardwood and worried that pine won't look good.).

What would people recommend?

We went for thermawood for our new deck as it was cheaper than hardwood but has (supposedly) been heat treated to have similar properties. Only been down since July so can't reslly tell how it will perform as yet, but builder liked it.

Sorry I can't remember exactly but it cost s couple of hundred more than standard decking would have been but less than hardwood. Will try and find a link.

Sorry cant do link but it was by MetsaWood and is called thermowood rather than thermawood.
