Diy kitchens painted in f&b?

After a year of dithering I have finally decided what kitchen I want. Its from diy kitchens in either their own French grey off the peg or painted by them in f&b blackened. Has anyone had a kitchen painted by them? My concern with it is that f&b paints mark really easily in my experience, is it just the colour or the actual paint they use does anyone know please?

We're just about to order the Harewood kitchen in Cornforth White from DIYKitchens. We visited the showroom and were impressed with the quality.

The painted kitchens seemed no more likely to mark than any others, they use a durable paint (don't know exactly what) in the F&B colours. I have a door sample and everything wipes off it easily.

Which kitchen are you getting Wormshuffled? It's taken me ages to decide exactly what to get and I still can't decide on a tap or handles.

Hiya! I am going for the broadoak painted I think! Not blackened paint now though as I've just done a sample at its showing up quite blue in the kitchen. I'm now dithering over pavilion grey!
I think I might order a sample of that as well as a sample lamp room grey which on the Clayton range which is slightly cheaper. Chunky handles for me. I've not had the tap debate with myself yet although I think it will be one with a pull out attachment , and stainless steel under mount sink.
We were really impressed by the showroom.

Do either of you know how their prices compare to somewhere like Ikea, B & Q or Wickes? The painted ranges look beautiful online but we are along way from the showroom .

Hi, we were going to get Broadoak, that's the sample door I have, then when we visited the showroom we both loved the Milton and Harewood inframe kitchens, we're not having any wall units so the price is pretty good.

I had a sample of the Lamp Room Grey and it's lovely but our kitchen is north facing so we need to keep everything quite light. I never thought it would take this long to decide on the details.

Yawningbear, I'd say the prices are quite a lot cheaper than B&Q, Wickes, Magnet etc, and possibly around the same as Ikea for a comparable kitchen. They have quite a large range form very cheap vinyl wrapped doors to solid wood painted. To give an idea our quote from B&Q was £2530 for the Ivory Framed IT kitchen which is their cheapest range, that was at trade price and included 1 larder unit, 5 base units, 2 appliance doors and 27mm oak worktops, unbranded sink and basic tap.

For approx the same amount of units plus a plate rack unit, 40 mm worktops, and a Franke sink it comes to around £3200 from DIY kitchens but that is for an inframe kitchen which has oak doors and a painted finish. The carcasses are also better quality and come with soft close as standard. For a kitchen the equilavent in quality as the B&Q we were quoted for it was around £1500.

The only thing with DIY kitchens is you have to plan the kitchen yourself and make sure you get the order right or you could end up paying extra delivery charges.

I have in frame at the moment and it hasn't aged very well, (sorry to potentially through more decisions at you)! all above the drawers has chipped where knives etc have scraped and dented, because the frame is on show it looks messy all the time. Every time the ladle or saucepan is not put in the drawer properly I get a new dent. Which is why I have gone for the broadoak/Clayton. I'm really liking the look of this pavilion grey as its drying.

Yawning bear my quote for wickes was 18k!! including fitting and corian worktops. Using diy kitchens its looking like about 10.5k all in.

Oh god, think I'll just pretend to have not read that! I'm already losing the will to live with all the kitchen, bathroom carpet decisions. We we're put off in frame initially as the B&Q kitchen had a sort of lip when you opened the cupboards and we thought it would be annoying having to lift things over this edge constantly. The Harewood kitchen doesn't have this lip thing so hoping it will be ok!

It's the same with the oak worktops, I think they could well be ruined within a few years but DH hated the Silestone worktop I love, we both like the look and feel of oak so that's what we're getting. My thinking is if they do get ruined I can replace with the Silestone I wanted.

I really need to try out the Cornforth in our kitchen once it's plastered and the floors tiled before the order goes in.

I think our kitchen including appliances, fitting and tiling will come in at around £6000, the quote at B&Q for the most expensive kitchen without any appliances or anything, just the units was £5200. I was initially a bit worried that the quality of DIY Kitchens with it being so much cheaper but I now think the other kitchen places just massively overcharge.

Would you believe I have done a u turn and gone for gloss white after all that! Thinking being I can change accessories etc to change the look when I get fed up. Cheaper too! just need to press checkout now!

That does sound like good value, will definitely do some more research when I stop spending all my salary on DS nursery placement I eventually have the funds for a new kitchen. I am very . Are they actual farrow and ball colours. Other than taking the names I can't find any reference to f&b on that site.

I think it's the F&B colours in a durable paint, not actual Farrow & Ball paint.

Whatsforteamum you have to select one of the paint your own kitchen ranges then when you choose your first unit and door you select the colour.

I'm still at the looking at catalogues stage, but I want plain matt slab doors which are hard to find, so I think I will probably go for the Carrera in alabaster or vanilla. It's a shame that isn't a Broadoak equivalent only slab instead of shaker.

I wanted slab matt doors too but really didn't like them in the flesh, I thought they looked cheap if I'm honest.

My kitchen is pained in F&B estate emulsion. It does not mark badly. A couple of years ago I decided to repaint, sugar soaped the walls and then realised it looked good as new and just left the old paint on.
