God that's seriously weird (esp in the bedrooms!)

Do we infer that the stuffed things are actually there but they photoshopped them out to show people what it could be like? (Or have they photoshopped them in to attract dead animal lovers?)

What the actual fuck is that all about????

I've got a horrible feeling that the CGI is in the cleared rooms, with the taxidermy the actual rooms. Look at the mirror in the dining room - blank in the cleared pic, reflections of animals in the other one...

hahaha,

do you think it was someone messing about in photoshop and they accidentally got uploaded or they are all actually there and they had to photoshop them out for the 'this is what it could look like photos'

Omg .....

The taxidermy pics have quite elaborate shadows. I think they are the real ones

The floorplan shows that there are two toilets off the master bedroom. His n' her bogs.

I agree - look also at the shadows on the wall. It would take forever to have photoshopped those in, much easier to smudge them out when deleting the dead animal collection from hell. Plus some of the walls look strangely empty without half of Noah's ark hanging from them.

Notice the dear old pheasants on the living room mantelpiece survive the airbrushing!

Holy shit! I would think that all those animals are the real deal and have been photoshopped out for visualising purposes.

I think those are walk-in cupboards, not WCs.

but how weird!

Yama · 18/07/2014 20:12

Yes, walk in cupboards. Of course. That makes sense.

Disappointed there isn't any in the bathrooms.

Perhaps the steam ruins the fur !

I pity the poor bugger who had to photoshop them out in all their creepy glory.

Bonkers but what an utterly amazing apartment, building and location swoon

That's a carpet beetles idea of heaven - all those rotting hides for them to feast on... Yuk...

Nah, it's a) American (think "Huntin', Shootin' Fishin'") and "on the market for the first time in 50 years". So the owner is probably 80, ill or passed away, and that's a lifetime of shooting paraphanalia that he/she (probably he!) has lovingly collected over the years.

I suspect they was not a vegan.....

Imagine trying to sleep in one of the bedrooms with all those cold, dead eyes looking at you. I freak out if there's a moth in my bedroom.

In all, Mr. Speck owns 400 specimens — 200 at the Beresford apartment and 200 at his home in Harrisonburg, Va.

He truly is the Noah of taxidermy.

That is truly hideous. Great location though.

Something tells me he could be a pain in the ass to deal with - he'd love the buyer to be someone who'd keep his collection there!

The bathroom is gorgeous - huge bath.
