Builders… grrrrr

Just trying to get quotes for our kitchen dinner extension. Those of you that have done this, how did you go about finding good builders? I rang three builders. All reputable local firms. Firm one, left a message, heard nothing back. Firm two, no one available for a consultation for 3 weeks, firm three, was supposed to come today (so I've organised to work from home) and hasn't turned up. Rang them, they forgot to put it in the diary when I booked the appointment. This is really not going well so far. Am I missing something here? Frustrated!

We went off personal recommendation, so a friend of a friend who was having an extension done. Rang the builder, visited his current site, he then came to my house, talked through the plans, gave me a quote I said yes, he started work, all went really well and very easy Grin

So someone who has had that builder recommending them. I know that can be harder than you think but we have had people notice our extension and ask us about it. They actually said we noticed you were having it built and then it was finished! I said, yep, the man does not mess about. Turns up every day, does what he says he will and doesn't leave you stranded.

If you are in Leeds and can wait till next year for your building works I can recommend my builder who was amazing.
