Help! Radiator advice needed

So, the next job on the long list of renovations is the kitchen. The current location for the radiator will not work with our new design, so we need a new one. The kitchen style is pretty modern - white gloss units, medium grey simstone/granite and summer oak Karndean.

We have a maximum gap of 1080mm, but that's an absolute max. It needs to be as slimline as possible. I wondered about a vertical radiator but have heard they aren't great at giving off heat. Our kitchen is 6.2m long by 2.6m wide, but with units down both sides, so the usable space is smaller. The house is also really generally warm!

The first thing you need to do is work out what output you need from the radiator - there are online calculators for this I think the plumbase or plumb nation have calculators on their website. This will enable you to work out what rads are suitable and what size will work. Then look at styles - they should all have the outputs shown and will help you work out what works for your room.

thanks wonkylegs - I tried that - it seems to say that I need 1194 watts. Is Plumb Nation an ok place to get radiators from? There's just so much choice, even if I do specify around 1000watts!

I've just purchased a designer radiator from bestheating.com. It came very quickly and seems good value, but haven't had it fitted yet, so can't comment further. Our architect recommended the site.
