composite doors & child proof handles/locks

I need to purchase a new front door as our existing wooden door is ill fitting, cold, ugly, swells, the letter box is broken (I could go on...) but wood is too expensive so have been looking at composite (low maintenance, great!) except they all seem to have this blumin 3 point locking system & a handle in the middle of the door just begging for my LO to open it (she has got very good at this!). We currently have a BS yale type lock which is perfect as cannot be opened from the outside without a key and even if LO got a chair to reach the latch, her little fingers could not open it.
Just lock the inside when we are in the house I hear you say? Hubby has a brain like a sieve & we are both worried about LO escaping!
Any advice or bright ideas?

You seem to be talking as if a wooden door is more expensive than composite.

What do you expect to pay?
