Are chain is going to collapse isn't it?

We found a buyer for our flat early dec, they already had a buyer who was keen to move but knew we still needed to find somewhere. We searched as quick as we could, which was hard as market went quiet over xmas but found somewhere early jan. The house we are buying has no forward chain so all good to start moving.

We sorted our mortgage, searches etc quickly and could prob have completed end of feb. Our buyers have been suprisingly quiet and we have found out they haven't done a thing other than instruct a solicitor. I have been chasing their survey for the last month but assumed that the searches were underway as that was what I have been told. It now appears that they just don't answer calls to the estate agent, solicitor etc so no-one knows what is going on.

I think its all going to collapse. Our estate agent said she will call again today and if they don't answer leave a message saying she recommends we put our flat back on the market if things dont start progressing. I can't see it ending well. We wanted to move before DD started school, we took 6 mths to get this buyer so if they drop out we'll prob lose the house we're going for. I'm certain they will put it back on the market as they sold quick and are likley to again, maybe even getting more money than we are paying.

Ahh its so stressful!! Sorry more of a vent than anything!

Bugger I've been in a similar situation and lied to by my own agents! Hopefully yours are more trustworthy. Can you contact their solicitor?

I don't think its going to do much good. My solicitor sent me an email a few days ago saying he had talked to theirs who had said he had the money for the searches but was still waiting instruction on whether to start them so don't think he has heard anything either.

Our agents have misled us, they have made out things were happening when they'd had no contact and just assumed they were.

How did your situation end up??

Agents do cover things up and conceal things.
Basically we were told everything was fine and called them to double check we should start the searches on the tues- we spoke to our mortgage advisor on the weds who told us that the FTB buying ours had been refused for a mortgage again it basically came out that the agents had known for over a week that she couldn't get a mortgage deal but still told us everything was fine and to pay for searches.
Anyway it obviously fell though we were honest with the people we were buying from and they said they would give us a couple more weeks to find another buyer- which seemed impossible as it took us 5 months to get the FTB but we had a lady come round the next day and she bought it (cash buyer!) so we didn't lose the house or anytime really as she didn't want to do searches on ours.
I hope your situation turns out well OP it's such a stressful time isn't it not helped when the people your paying a lot of money to are lying to you .(

We've lost our buyer now, they pulled out Monday night, we've had one person view and another booked for the weekend. I think we're going to lose our house though. Its so annoying, I think our buyers have been thinking about it for weeks, end of last week they said all was fine let's press on and now they've pulled out, no explanation given!

I feel like my life has been on hold this past year and now we're back to the beginning again doing viewings.

Fingers crossed you get another buyer quickly like us but that's exactly how I felt :( good luck
If your honest with the house your buying they might give you some time to sell

Thanks wishful, that's what I'm hoping. I'm going to call them this morn and explain everything, we were ready to exchange!

Its so disappointing :( but remember that they would need to find a new buyer too so chances are they'll give you some time. Could you drop your price anymore for a quick sale? We had to take another 5k off
