Grand Designs - does Kevin McCloud ever say he hates a house?

On tonight, a truly hideous house in Spain. The wife, dealing with the build, doesn't speak Spanish, and the Spanish project manager doesn't speak english. They've planned 2 swimming pools, one Olympic size, in what seems to be an arid area. Does Kevin EVER say 'bloody hell, that's horrible'. At the moment he's just nodding benignly.

I think that's what he means when he talks about "a very ambitious vision."

You can tell sometimes by what he doesn't say, iyswim.
Bloody hell, that sounds like a ridiculous project.

Is that the one where he told the client it had a look of a shopping centre? That made me laugh.

Hahaha! I did see one once where there was a rich banker type with a flat in the Barbican, who was getting massively ripped off by an interior designer who specialised in bars rather than houses. He had some kind of sliding wardrobe that was supposed to be electric (why?!) and it wasn't working - Kevin McCloud did say 'that's rubbish!' or something to that effect...

There was a hideous one the other day. Huge porch type thing, small windows. Bland and weirdly massive fireplace. Must have hurt to say nice things.

I know a person who went to a housewarming party and was chatting to the host about the new place and he said 'i bet you can't wait to rip out this hideous kitchen and start again!' Only to be told that the kitchen had just been finished that week in time for the party ! Whoops !! ( lol ... It was my husband !! And I couldn't stop laughing and had to leave the party !! Never did like them much anyway !! More of a friend of a friend !! Lol !! Was funny though !)

I saw one where a couple had converted an underground military bunker. Kevin kept muttering about his concerns that it would be very dark as there was no source of natural light in the downstairs bit. It turned out OK-ish but the interior furnishings were fairly hideous and it was indeed very very dark in the lower level. You could see he didn't care for it much and he seemed less than taken with the couple...

I seem to remember one awful one where they were building a giant barge houseboat. Kevin left so much unsaid that there was hardly any dialogueGrin
