Can anyone let me know how much a single story extension might cost? Also the size. Many thanks.

Depending on where you live, budget for £1000-£1500 per square metre to a first fix finish.

Agree-- 1,500 psm in London for basic finish including electrics (but not light fixtures), basic plumbing and all plastering and painting. On top of this you would need to supply flooring, kitchen, light fixtures etc. It would be more if you need to move or replace your boiler, if you want bifold doors / veluxes and if you want under floor heating.
