Anyone used Annie Sloan chalk paint?

I have a pine rocking chair I want to paint. Not a nice old pine chair, but a modern, shiny pine type one. I thought I might try annie Sloan paint as it needs no prep, but can't decide what colour. I like the look of French Grey painted stuff, but maybe a cream or white would be more versatile, as not decided yet which room the chair will end up in?

Any colour recommendations or tips?

I'm in the process of painting a sideboard in AS Old Ochre, which is looking good - if you like cream painted furniture, anyway! I practiced first on a horrible shiny orange pine chest of drawers. I did the drawers Duck Egg and the rest Old Ochre.

Very easy to use, but I found it better to water the paint down a bit. It was a bit too thick otherwise. Also, the colour does darken and the appearance changes once you put on the clear wax. Overall I'm very pleased because I am famously crack handed and un-artistic, but even I have made the items look much improved!

Do you really not need to do any sanding etc? I have a lovely shiny orange pine chest of drawers which I have been thinking of having a go on as well. And do you think it would work on glossy mdf?

I didn't do any sanding or anything. As I said, the paint is pretty thick as it comes in the tin and should stick to anything I would think! Just watering it down very slightly made it easier to apply smoothly. I'd definitely give it go.
