Engineered wood flooring - oiled, lacquered or what?

Seems there are so many different options and it's confusing. I'd prefer the "healthiest" option but don't know what that is. Does anyone know what the pros and cons are?

I believe there are fumes and formaldihyde (sp) in some engineered wood finishes - and often in laquers

I find it healthier for me to not have to sand and oil it every few years.

We have engineered wood floor downstairs and it's natural brushed and oiled. Which gives a great non shiny look but it does still absorb grease, so there is some staining.

I was thinking about an engineered wood floor, and then took a look at solid oak floor- the cost difference was actually cheaper as a solid floor and by far the healthier option. Meant I wasn't using a floor with any glue or that had been through a million processes to get it in my house. they were a great company based in Devon, delivered to my house- and all their floors are from trees grown in the uk!
